    What a surprise to find this oyster bar in the desert... these are some fresh and large yummy seashell treats. A must is the clam chowder. I think everyone should hear about this hidden chem. I shall return yum-yum!

    If you're searching for a taste of authentic Southern comfort in Las Vegas, the gumbo at Big Sur Oyster Bar in South Point Casino is a must-try! The gumbo was rich, hearty, and full of flavor. From the first spoonful, it was clear that this dish was made with care and tradition in mind. The broth had the perfect balance of spices, with a deep, smoky flavor that was complemented by the fresh seafood and andouille sausage. The shrimp were plump and tender, and the sausage added just the right amount of heat and richness. The portion was generous, and the consistency was spot on--not too thick, but substantial enough to be satisfying. It was served over a bed of fluffy white rice, which soaked up the flavors beautifully, making each bite more delicious than the last. The ambiance of the Big Sur Oyster Bar also added to the experience. The casual yet inviting atmosphere made it a great spot to enjoy a comforting bowl of gumbo, whether you're dining alone or with friends.

    Back for crab legs and clam chowder! Service is friendly and efficient. Wait times can be long, especially on weekends or during events but it's worth it. The menu items are all decent prices considering the area

    As previously noted, I'm a fan of the South Point Casino when it comes to the rooms, casino floor & subtle perks through out. This place has quite a few hidden gems. Big Sur Oyster bar is dead smack in the casino near the Garden Buffet (not a fan) and I've yet to be disappointed!! If you love Raw Oysters & Clams, this is a great spot to break from casino life or even come specifically for lunch/early dinner. My favorite are the Jambalaya, Cajun Style Pasta w/Shrimp, & the Linguini & Clams. All 3 of these are made to order and always on point. Comes with bread and salad (I think) I typically go with a side salad, a dozen raw oysters and one of the 3 main dishes I mentioned. They got a lot of seafood items on the menu that I've also grabbed when on the go like the Lobster Grilled Cheese... good, but Pricey for a sandwich. I will continue to stick to my regular routine ... and that includes winning on the casino floor so if it ain't broke, don't fix!!!! Crab Leg special is next on deck!!
